Post TED Talk and Spring Break (5)

Reflections

I'm writing this on Easter Sunday, after a nice and long spring break. My time in St. Petersburg, Florida provided a much needed break. Of course I brought my camera, but I'm not the best packer. I unfortunately left the battery charging at home and had to fork over 75 bucks for a new one in Florida. Even though I was only able to photograph for one night, it was worth it.

This past week has also left me with a lot of time to reflect. That could've been the fastest marking period ever. The whole thing was done before I felt mastery. It stinks because this project ended right when I was starting to get good. That's why I'm definitely going to continue this passion. I'm starting to get opportunities, such as Florida, that put my skills to the test. Over the summer, I'll be headed to Alaska. That'll be nature and landscape pictures, a completely different kind of photography, and another thing I'd like to have under my belt. Hey, if you or anyone you know needs prom pictures, just slide me $20 and consider it done. 

I've also been thinking about my TED talk. It went really well. I barley had to use my note-cards because of how confident I was. This speech was a lot easier to memorize because of how much I know and how passionate I am about photography. There was only one error, and that was the animations in my presentation. There were words on the PowerPoint that were supposed to fade in and out, but I forgot there was an entrance and exit. This caused me to lag behind and my conclusion was a bit awkward. Besides that, my presentation hit the time and I spoke loud and clear. 

The last thing that I have started to do is use Photoshop and other post-production software. It was confusing at first but I have started to get the hang of it. Here are some projects I've been working on. 

I have no idea if I will use this blog in the future to upload photos. I am going to try to look for a permanent place where other people can see my creations. This blog started out as a simple school project but it has evolved into something so much more. I now understand Perlman when he said that this was about more than the grade. I have truly found something that I wish to continue for the rest of my life.
